Return Policy

How to return a product you purchased from deepandsteep.io, and what to do if you purchased it from a dealer.

Purchased from deepandsteep.io

Return window

Products can be returned up to 30 days after the original date of purchase: the day payment was made for the item.

If the item was on backorder or pre-order, the 30 days start on the day we ship it, so waiting for stock never uses up your return window.

A product that develops a fault after the return window is covered by the Limited Warranty.

Condition of the product

We accept a return under the following conditions:

  • All original packaging is intact, undamaged and included, with every accessory, cable and document that came in the box.
  • The product is unused. For altimeters, the device must show 0 jumps. Unboxing a device, charging it, pairing it with the app and updating its firmware to try it out do not count as use.
  • The product is undamaged: no scratches, dents, markings, chips or other signs of wear.
  • The product is returned by the original purchaser. A gift is returned by the person who purchased it, and the refund goes to their payment method.
  • The original proof of purchase (the order confirmation email or a receipt) is included.
Products with different return terms

Engo HUD glasses. The glasses are made by Engo Eyewear and follow Engo’s return terms. Within 30 days of purchase they can be returned if they are undamaged, with no scratches, cracks or other markings, and every component (charging cable, manuals and so on) comes back. Unopened boxes are refunded in full; open-box returns carry a $35 restocking and refurbishing fee. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense.

Every other product we sell is made by Deep and Steep and follows the standard return terms on this page.

How to start a return

Returns must ship from an address in the United States. Outside the United States, see Purchased from a Dealer below.

  1. Go to the Support page and send a message asking for return instructions. Include your order number, the product, and the reason you want to return it.
  2. We reply with a Return Authorization (RA) number and the address to ship to. Please do not ship anything before you have an RA number: a package that arrives without one can be delayed or refused.
  3. Put the product, in its original box, inside a shipping box. Do not tape, label or write on the product box itself, since an undamaged original box is a condition of the return.
  4. Include your proof of purchase, write the RA number on the outside of the shipping box, and ship it within 14 days of receiving the RA number.
  5. Use a tracked shipping service and keep the tracking number. We recommend insuring the package for the full value of the product: it is your responsibility until it reaches us.
Return shipping costs

You pay the cost of shipping a return to us. When the return is our mistake (a wrong item, or a product that arrived damaged or defective), we send a prepaid shipping label instead.

The original shipping charge is not refunded, unless the return is our mistake.

Inspection and refunds

We inspect every return when it arrives and email you the result.

An approved return is refunded to the original payment method, for the price you paid for the item and its sales tax. Your bank or card issuer can take another 5 to 10 business days to show the credit.

There is no restocking fee on Deep and Steep products that meet the conditions above.

If a return does not meet the conditions (for example, the device shows jumps or has marks), we contact you before doing anything else. You can have it shipped back to you at your expense, or accept a partial refund where we can resell it as open box.

Damaged, wrong or missing items

If your order arrives damaged, or an item is wrong or missing, contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the product, the box and the shipping label. Keep all the packaging until the claim is settled.

We send a replacement or the missing item, or refund it, and cover every shipping cost.

Canceling an order

An order can be canceled for a full refund, including shipping, until it ships. That includes a backordered item, however long it has been waiting. Once an order has shipped, it follows the return process.

If a package is refused or comes back to us as undeliverable, we refund the order less the original shipping and the cost of its return to us.

Purchased from a Dealer

From a dealer in the United States

Return it to the dealer you purchased it from. The dealer’s own return policy applies, and we cannot refund a purchase made from a dealer.

For a product that stops working, contact the dealer or us. The Limited Warranty covers products purchased from an authorized dealer, with the dealer’s receipt as the proof of purchase.

Outside the United States

Outside the United States, Deep and Steep products are sold only through our authorized dealers. Please do not send a product to us from outside the United States: it will not be accepted, and we cannot refund or replace it or pay any shipping, duties or taxes it incurs.

Returns. Contact the dealer you purchased from. Their return policy applies, together with the consumer law of your country, including any right to cancel an online purchase (14 days in the European Union and the United Kingdom, for example).

A product that does not work. Contact your dealer. Do not ship the product to the United States. A defect covered by the Limited Warranty is repaired or replaced.

Purchased from deepandsteep.io, now outside the United States. Contact us before you ship anything. A return must ship from an address in the United States; for a warranty claim we can often arrange help through a dealer near you.

Purchased somewhere else

A product purchased from anyone other than Deep and Steep or an authorized dealer, including second-hand and marketplace sales, cannot be returned to us or to a dealer.

Help

This policy does not limit any rights you have under the consumer laws of your state or country. We may update it from time to time; the version in effect on the day you purchased the product applies.
