Engo HUD Glasses

Deep and Steep has paired the Engo line of HUD glasses with the Insight and Stratos GPS altimeters. Up to three lines of live data float a few feet in front of your right eye, slightly up and to the left: out of the way until you want them, and far quicker to read than turning to look at your wrist.

Before you jump with a HUD

B-license or equivalent

Suggested minimum experience for using the HUD glasses. You should also meet the USPA currency guidelines for your license level.

Start easy

Get comfortable with the HUD on a few relaxed solo skydives with your normal gear before you take it on a busy jump.

Keep the Insight in view

Wear it on a wrist or mudflap mount where you can see the screen. A back pocket, a wingsuit pocket or the back of a helmet can block the connection.

The HUD is a second screen

Always keep the Insight/Stratos visible during your jump. If the connection is lost to the HUD you must be able to reference your altimeter.

Choose Your Information

Altitude

Your altitude above the landing zone, from the connected altimeter, without turning your head.

Vertical speed

How fast you are coming down, averaged over two seconds, in freefall and under canopy.

Ground speed

How fast you are moving over the ground.

Ground track

The direction you are actually travelling over the ground, in degrees.

Distance to the LZ

How far you are from your marked landing zone.

Turn to LZ

Direction of turn to fly towards the LZ.

Current glide

Current glide ratio, with a warning mark if your glide will not make it to the LZ.

LZ glide

The glide ratio you need to make the LZ from where you are.

The lens

Photochromic

The high-definition lens adapts to the light around you, from clear (Cat. 0) in the plane to dark (Cat. 3) in full sun.

Impact resistant

High-definition polycarbonate, lightweight and impact resistant, comparable to other high-performance sports lenses.

Vented panoramic shield

A single panoramic lens with vents and a shallow design that keeps weight down and fogging away.

Light on your face

Built for endurance athletes who wear them for hours, so a full day at the dropzone is nothing.

Up to 12 hours

A full charge covers a long day of jumping.

3-hour charge

Plug in overnight or over lunch and you are set.

Magnetic charging

USB to magnetic pogo-pin cable. It snaps on, no port to line up.

Engo returns. Within 30 days of purchase the glasses can be returned if they are undamaged, with no scratches, cracks or other markings, and every component (charging cable, manuals and so on) comes back. Unopened boxes are refunded in full; open-box returns carry a $35 restocking and refurbishing fee. Return shipping is at the customer’s expense.
